The reason they make night lights…

  • Posted by Isabell on April 18, 2010 at 9:45 pm

Now many people have different ideas as to why parents seem to think kids need night lights in their bedrooms.  I’m here to tell you that it has NOTHING to do with being afraid of the dark.  Today I played outside for lots and lots of time (Mommy told Ammie it was for three hours).  Anyway, I had burritos for dinner (Daddy even rolled up my own shell with beans and meat and cheese inside), and then I got to play for a bit before I got cranky enough that my parents made me get ready for bed.

So I fuss while I get my jammies on, cuz that’s my job.  And I got in bed and I took my bottle and I went to sleep like a good girl.  I even was enjoying my time there, but like usual I moved around a lot and tried to find a more comfortable spot.  Only tonight my nightlight wasn’t working, and so I didn’t see where the edges of the bed were when I got close.  My Mommy and Daddy were smart and put rails on the sides of my bed, but they weren’t as smart as they thought, cuz they didn’t put anything on the END of the bed.  Well, without the light I didn’t notice when I got to the edge, and when I threw myself over one more time, I woke up suddenly and found myself staring up at the bottom of my bed!!

That’s the last time I trust my parents to make sure that all my gadgets are working at bedtime.  That night light is a MUST to keep me in my bed!  Man, parents aren’t good for anything!

Tulip Festival?

  • Posted by Isabell on April 18, 2010 at 9:25 pm

I think not!!  I know my mommy and daddy say that the tulips are supposed to be oh so beautiful, and they kept trying to get me to smell the flowers, but why?  Flowers after a car ride aren’t any better than the flowers in the yard I played with yesterday!  So I had to find my own fun up at the festival.  Well, it turns out I didn’t have to look very far!  My Aunt Carrie was afraid of a little rain so she brought her umbrella with  her.  But she didn’t get to hold onto it for very long, cuz I wanted it, and I have what they all keep calling “only child syndrome”.  I think it means that I get whatever I want, all I have to do is whine a little bit.

Anyway, I wanted the umbrella so she gave it to me, and I carried it around, even when the wind tried to take it away from me!  I found that I am so very cute that I make friends where ever I go.  I had random ladies taking my picture, foreign people oo-ing and aaa-ing over me, and I even made friends with a little girl who was just my size!!

But the lela (aka umbrella) wasn’t the ONLY fun thing I found to do at the festival.  I also got to enjoy MUD PUDDLES!  My mommy didn’t let me stomp in many of the big ones, but she did let me jump in the little puddles and slip and slide around between them while holding her hand.  I really love puddles.  All I want to do is point out the water, and then step in it over and over until my white boots are brown and my pants are all wet.

It really was fun!  It was so fun I forgot to take a nap, and waited a LONG time before I wanted even a snack.  Maybe next year they’ll forget the tulips and  just have fields of mud puddles that I can play in while keeping my hair dry with my own umbrella.

Forget chocolate, sugar!!!!  Peep for pre dinner snack, mid dinner sugar rush, after dinner mint and  dessert, I sure do love when we’re at Abby’s house and he can give me treats without mom saying “no!”
